Quality assurance is an important part of the health care process. Each program in Women's Health has a set of required quality assurance processes, such as chart audits and site visits by regional and state staff. In addition, local programs undergo periodic routine self-audits to assure the care provided was adequate and appropriate, and that the processes surrounding the visit, such as data entry of client information, billing, and other routine non-medical processes are in compliance with the program rules, policies, and state public health laws.
