The North Carolina Division of Public Health, Women’s and Children’s Health Section has released RFA A384-Community Health Worker-Doula Program.

One eligible public or non-profit organization will be selected to receive funding to pilot a Community Health Worker-Doula program in either Perinatal Care Region (PCR) 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6. Applicant agencies must be a North Carolina public or private non-profit institution that is physically located in one of the aforementioned Perinatal Care Regions. Each applicant agency must demonstrate the capacity to provide services required under this RFA in at least one county of the identified PCR where participants will be served. Applicants must have expertise managing programs or initiatives that are staffed by trained community health workers, doulas and/or lay health, outreach or related types of workers who directly serve pregnant, postpartum and/or interconception women in their local communities.

RFAs will be posted on the Program’s website at: http://www.ncdhhs.gov/about/grant-opportunities/public-health-grant-opportunities and may be sent to prospective agencies and organizations via direct mail, email, and/or Program’s website beginning Tuesday January 26, 2021.

01/26/2021: Request for Applications released to eligible applicants.
02/18/2021: Bidder’s Conference (webinar)
02/25/2021: End of Q&A period. All questions due in writing by 5pm.
03/04/2021: Answers to Questions released to all applicants, as an addendum to the RFA.
03/26/2021: Applications due by 5pm.
04/14/2021: Successful applicants will be notified.
06/01/2021: Contract proposed start date.
